For a long time now I've been trying to remember a silly piece of poetry from my childhood. Years ago I sent a subject request to slnsw with no success, some time ago I "asked a librarian" and found they knew the same bit I did, but couldn't find the rest. I posted the question on Yahoo Answers, and within an hour someone had provided the whole poem!
So, naturally, I'm hooked on Answer Boards!
I like the concept of Librarians "slamming the boards" as a way of promoting libraries, but I think for most smaller libraries it would be difficult to find the time and the librarians to participate. The signatures & tag lines suggested by the "slammers" are a great idea. Maybe those of us without qualifications could use a variation of the tags when we provide answers as individuals.
I had a go at answering a couple of questions.
The first person wanted a good Shakespeare site and I had no trouble finding one for them. Someone else answered with a much better site, so I have gained as well as the questioner.
The second person had a question we are all familiar with - they know something about the content & maybe a word from the title, and want to know the title & author. I think I found the answer, but it hasn't been confirmed by the asker yet.
