What do I hope to learn from this program?
Well, although I’m quite comfortable with computers and the internet, this course covers a range of topics about which I know very little.
I’ve had the idea that blogs etc were mostly of social & entertainment value for the young, with limited value for the wider community, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to find out how these things really work.
The sample blogs demonstrated a good range of library oriented uses, and now I can see that Web 2.0 offers a wider range of possibilities than I realised.
I particularly enjoyed the Southern Tablelands site. What a great way to present local history, and I’m already mentally planning a site for my local community!
